Trauma-Informed Therapeutic Hip Hop CPD

About the Event
Hip Hop is being used effectively within therapeutic interventions in the USA. But how?
Hip Hop Therapy practitioners come from social work, therapy and education. They are helping people self-regulate and manage trauma symptoms through the art, dance, lyricsim and music of Hip Hop.
We want to spread this practice far and wide.
Being based in Britain, we represent black bass music in our arts for mental health practice. Our musical heritage comes from Jamaican soundsystem culture. Hence, we incorporate Hip Hop Therapy-style techniques in the UK's black music context from Dub to Dancehall to Drill.
In this CPD, we share:
- cuturally-competent expressive writing training
- practice tools developed over 10 years of research and practice with the UK's most disadvantaged populations including people in recovery from homelessness, offending and mental illness
- the science behind our tried-and-tested activities, based on techniques from poetry, narrative and bibliotherapy
Hip Hop HEALS CIC researches, advocates and promotes the inclusion of rap, reggae and jungle lyricism within therapeutic interventions in the UK.
Help us spread the benefits by training to include therapeutic Hip Hop in your own work.
